Michael Moore, love him or loathe him, he cannot be ignored. He reckons the economic bubble has not really burst at all yet, and it’s going to…soon!

He is not the only one to suggest this, and I tend to agree with him as the governments are not admitting how bad it really can turn out. The cost of the bank bailout compared to what we earn as a country just does not add up.

International Women’s Day

I have read a lot of feminist literature and books over the years, really supported and encouraged women to stand up for their rights and not to take any shit from men. That was the 70’s, nowadays I do exactly the same, to men! The pendulum has swung too far in the other direction and it is men who need their rights focused on and brought up to the same level as women’s.

The call for gender quotas in Politics is a sick joke, we have a educational system dominated by women and that has proven to be disastrous. There are 13% of politicians women, this would seem about right as there is a 10:1 ratio of Alpha males to Alpha females and I don’t buy the idea that an Alpha is a result of conditioning, they are born not made.

The presentation of the Woman as “victim” of everything man-made in society is rapidly falling apart and not in a way anyone would wish to see, women lie more than men, women abuse children as much as men and the one that is probably the most interesting is in anti-terrorism training, when faced with a group of armed and dangerous terrorists, the woman is taken out first! Why? Well it seems that the woman will pick up her gun, aim and fire in rapid succession whereas the man hesitates before taking life. Also the kill rate for a Male terrorist is about 14, then he puts the gun into his mouth and takes off the back of his head. No such scnario for women terrorists though, they can continue to kill with no remorse or guilt.

I could go on on this but enough said, I love women, my closest two friends are both women. Neither are “Feminists” both are very strong individuals, both are real people in a real world, not what is now a sad remnant of the feminist movement which has given rise to the term “Feminazi” a sad shower of nutters disliked by men and women alike, and tbh I find them an embarrassment.

Woman is and always will be different than Man, they have strengths where we have weaknesses and vice versa, A Woman never walks in front of nor behind a man, we are neither slaves nor masters based on our gender. The only victims of gender discrimination are the feminazis who have dug their own hole.

It is easy to see that the Headshops will be closed, fear rears it’s ugly head, again! Fear makes people do strange things, fear of what people think, fear of what people would do if there was no laws to frighten them.

They worship non-existent Gods to alleviate the fear of dying and it all ending. People confine themselves completely in life because of fear, over insure themselves, drive the right cars, eat the right foods, stay in dead end jobs, stay in relationships that make them unhappy, completely conform to what everybody else does in case they seem different, because of fear.

The War on Terror, fear!

Swine Flu, fear!

Aids, fear!

The economy, fear!

Life, fear!

Death, fear!

Fear is beginning to scare me!

The Future Is Cancelled

The future is cancelled, mainly due to fears about job insecurity, NAMA and the possibility of either the climate warming alarmists being right, or worse still the the deniers being right. This will please everyone no end to return to 2002 and we can do a loop from there to say 2008, nice six year roundabout, excellent, we will all know what is going to happen in the years ahead and so be well prepared for it, your Granny won’t slip and kill herself on that icy patch ‘cos you will have salted it in time, won’t you?

It was all a bit over-rated anyway, we never got flying cars, nor shiny cities and we still drive on tarmac not overhead lanes as envisaged. We will have no problem at all going around in a circle after we get used to going backwards, yes backwards, well how did you think we were going to get back to 2002? After a few days of walking backwards and driving backwards we will be fine, no problem, going to the toilet is a little more tricky but we are adaptable and we will get used to the reversal effect in no time. I am really looking forward to the delicious dinner I puked up on Shop street after a feed of drink in 2004, have missed that a lot.

Compensation Culture

Laura Mulvanney gets pissed drinking spirits in a toilet cubicle with a friend, falls in the damm cubicle and cuts her leg, the mammy tries to sue as it could not possibly be the fault of her upbringing now, could it? It could not be blamed on young Laura (she was 15 when it happened) either, so it must be the fault of the club.

Despite the very strict policy on the door at Old Wesley Rugby Club including searches for alcohol, it is mainly attended by under 18’s somehow Laura and/or her friend managed to smuggle in some bottles of spirits. I do not blame Laura for this, or do I, she had 4 years to cop onto her Mothers thirst for revenge through the courts, she could have a bit of cop-on and tell her Mother to forget it.

Laura did not even notice the cut until the blood streamed down her leg, happens when you are pissed, doesn’t it? she got 6 stitches in hospital, jesus I have had 6 stitches on my finger FFS. The more I read about it the more I think that her Mother is a stupid cunt to bring this case and her daughter is another stupid cunt as well, she should learn to think for herself!

This culture of compensation has gotten out of control in this country and it was good to see this being dismissed and the costs having to be paid my the Mother as well, will keep an eye and see if there is an appeal. BTW the claim was for €38,000 that works out at over €6,000 a stitch. Looking at her photo she has her ears pierced, now if that were to happen by accident it would cost over €12,600, and I wonder if her bellybuton is pierced or elsewhere, she has probably inflicted this much damage on her body and paid through the nose for it, well she does come from Foxrock!

Half Way

Half way point, 126th post, promised myself I would do it for a year, five days a week or thereabouts so have done it for six months now approx. Six months of Irish politics and it feels like two years. Time for change now earlier than i thought, time to start doing more constructive things with the time I spend on the web.

I will keep this going for another six months but when one looks into the fire one has to take what one discovers and use it otherwise the fire will consume the viewer. hence the image of the moon, in half light ecplise, the shadow cast by the earth blocking the light somehow making sense of what i am saying.

There will be no revolution in Ireland, Fianna Fail will cling onto power as long as they can and may well succeed. There is very little difference in the other parties who would step up to the plate. The government reflects the people of Ireland and I do not see myself represented there nor much chance of being so. This could be seen as a damm good thing looking at the moral and ethical standards that are the norm of government.

Payback

Fast on the heels of O’Dea going we see all the signs of Trevor Sargent being shafted. Coincidence? I think not! This was one of the more decent politicians in Irish Politics and he made no attempt to dismiss what he was accused of whatsoever, just resigned unlike O’Dea or O’Donoghue before him hanging on until the last minute to see if they could brazen it out.

I think this has all the hallmarks of Fianna Fail kicking their partners until they are destroyed just like they did to the PD’s before them. Not a good day for Politics in Ireland.

If it was as I believe Fianna Fail that orchestrated this then their quick reaction in this case is to cover something else, but what? The DDA report that is due to come out? A week is no longer a long time in politics, a day is a long time now, and I wonder if Fianna Fail are under serious pressure to perform under these conditions and are shooting from the hip. If so then we will see some more serious fallout in the next week or so. What are the chances of Gormley growing a pair? Zero tbh, he lacks the testosterone.

What a truly filthy game politics is and one wonders at the type of person who does go into it, power without a doubt, and the money. Power mainly though, and they are either corrupted or shafted as they cannot be trusted if not corrupt.

The really annoying thing is that we are getting deeper and deeper in debt, the economy is slowing, unemployment rising and these politicians are playing their godamm power games as no matter what happens, they will still have a pension to retire to.

What really pisses me off is the way people approach politics in such a tribal manner, a game of two sides with supporters cheering their heroes on and showing great loyalty to them. It is no game, it is our lives and futures that is at stake.

This does not work anymore, there has to be something better than this…………

U2, the Vatican and Builders

I just came across this story from Sean O Nuallain about U2, on their links with major builders and the monies donated to the Vatican. It is from a blog called thetruthhurts

“U2’s links with property development in Ireland continued to the point that they thanked the “builders” McKillen, Mulryan and Qunilan on their 2009 album. Imagine our lack of surprise when all 3 names ended up on the list of the miscreants whose reckless trading has sunk the Irish economy;

To safeguard their privileges for the next world after this one, all three contributed, Borgia style, to a Vatican refurbishment”

These three property developers were named in the top 10 borrowers whose loans were bound for Nama in the first wave of transfers last week. Some €16bn worth of loans associated with the 10 biggest borrowers are set to be transferred shortly.

The Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums published recently reveals that these troubled property developers provided ‘financial support’ for the restoration of the historic Pauline Chapel in the Vatican Museum.

Fellow donors included former Anglo Irish bank chairman Sean FitzPatrick and the controversial former boss of Irish Nationwide Michael Fingleton.

Other donors included digicel owner Denis O’Brien and William Bollinger, the Irish co-founder of the €3bn Egerton Capital Hedge Fund.

Close to €9m was raised from donors for the restoration project. A marble plaque listing the names of all 26 donors, including the Irish builders and bankers, was unveiled in the chapel.

The link on his blog here Anatomy of a music scam covers the shenanigans over being paid for music is just painful to read, what a shower of shysters u2 are and am not surprised to see them keeping company with the people they do.

I will return to this again as it honestly depresses me to see how this cancer of cronyism and corruption has invaded every corner of Irish society, I am sick to my stomach of it so I will rant about it another day when there is more fire in my belly.

This has been 6 years in development and is expected to be an ongoing work for some time. The Public Working Draft is what is available above and well wort a peep. The specification is expected to reach the W3C Candidate Recommendation stage during 2012, and W3C Recommendation in the year 2022 or later.

It is certainly slick and easy to use with a tiny memory footprint that makes it feel totally integrated within the Browser and it will not be as fussy about which browser it uses even at this early stage. So far Safari on Mac and Chrome on Linux are fine to use. This will have the skids under Photoshop and to an extent Corel, and the people who gain, is us the users.

It is intriguing to see how the different companies build onto their original app’s, increasing the integration between them and the web and having such a powerful influence on the browser of the future. A complete integrated experience that will make you coffee (Note to self: time to computerise the coffee machine methinks) design your product and entertain you as well.

The time spent on the internet is like no other time spent, It must be the most natural extension of a mind there is. This is culture changing, wonder will it be as much fun as the 70’s? Time to find out……

This last week saw the resignation of Willie O’Dea, helped in no small way by the contributors on P.ie who kept it in the public eye for the last few months. In a lot of ways the landmark meeting of smart media and a government that are wrong-footed when it comes to handling themselves on the internet. Is it possible that a group of people mostly strangers to one another can come together and provide better informed and more intelligent decisions than our government?

You can bet that the computer you are reading this on would not exist right now, with you reading this, if it had not been for a whole lot of strangers coming together and putting lines and lines of logical code together to make this possible. This is change, a change in information processing by a country, and a change that is going to increase at an exponential growth for a long time….
